Road safety engineer - united arab emirates, abu dhabi
Responsibilities:lead and/or participate in road safety audits (rsa stages 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4), as defined in tr-540 (by qcc).lead and/or participate in in-service road safety reviews/inspections for a variety of abu dhabi roads.lead or participate in conceptual, functional, and detailed road design projects.lead or participate in internal safety reviews of different road design projects.lead or participate in client and contractor meetings.mentor and guide junior staff through all stages of multiple projects, at various stages of development.engage in active business development for different transportation engineering projects.skillsrequired qualifications:bachelor of civil engineering from an accredited university (master’s is preferred) with a strong emphasis on transportation or traffic engineering.a minimum of 4 years of experience in road safety audits and in-service road safety reviews/inspections.must have completed a minimum of 5 road safety audits (as audit team member or observer) in the past 24 months.licensed (or eligible to be licensed) by dmt. full familiarity with national and international standards and guidelines related to road safety and highway design, including tr-540 (by qcc), tr-514 (by qcc), tr-531 (by qcc), highway safety manual (by aashto), green book (by aashto), mutcd (by fhwa), hcm (by fhwa), and other guidelines published by qcc, fhwa, and ite.full familiarity with dmt and itc procedures and requirements. strong oral and written communication skills in english (arabic is an asset).
