Job summary:as a chief accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financialaccounting and reporting processes of an organization. you will play a critical role inensuring accurate and timely financial information, compliance with regulatoryrequirements, and effective internal controls. your expertise in accounting principles andfinancial analysis will be essential in supporting strategic decision-making and maintainingthe financial health of the organization.responsibilities and tasks:financial accounting and reporting:oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., gaap, ifrs) and regulatory requirements.monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.review contracts for adherence to financial policy.preparing tax returns on time, without delaygeneral ledger management:maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and documentation of financial transactions.review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.budgeting and forecasting:collaborate with other departments to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights to management.recommend corrective actions to align actual results with budgeted targets.financial analysis:conduct financial analysis to assess the organization's financial performance, profitability, and liquidity.prepare financial reports and presentations for management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.advanced knowledge in cost and management accounting, financial principles, practices, and procedures including international accounting standards.provide recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.tax compliance and reporting:ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely preparation of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.coordinate with external tax advisors, as necessary, to optimize tax planning and minimize tax liabilities.stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their implications on the organization.ensures consistent reporting and conformity of company financial management to universal fiscal policies and procedures.preparing the financial reports every month and submitting them to the finance dept. in ksa.audit and compliance:reviews documents and claims for accuracy, completeness, and uniformity of financial policies.coordinate and manage internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.implement and maintain robust internal control procedures to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and address any audit findings.team leadership and development:provide guidance, support, and supervision to the accounting team.foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.identify training and development needs for the team and coordinate relevant training programs.maintains good relationships with the banks, creditors, etc.liaising with external auditors to get the engagement letter and signed financial statements.accounting and financial reporting:maintaining fixed assets registeradherence to the internal control policies.accounts payable:maintains client, vendor master file & associate recordsreviews and controls client & supplier invoiceschecking invoices, and offers signed by authorized signatoriesmanages dispatch of paymentsmonthly submission of accounts payable reportaccounts receivable:maintains client master file & associate recordsreviews and controls client paymentsmonthly submission of accounts receivable reportskillseducation and competency:bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. a master's degree or cpa qualification is highly desirable.proven experience as a senior-level accountant or in a similar role for at least 5 years.excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.strong understanding of internal controls and risk management practices.advanced knowledge of accounting software, erp systems, and ms excel.experience with tax compliance and reporting.strong analytical and problem-solving skills.attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.excellent communication and interpersonal skills.leadership abilities and the capability to manage and develop a team.
