Overview: as an insulation supervisor, you will oversee the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of insulation systems in various industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and construction projects. your role involves leading a team of insulation technicians, fabricators, and installers to ensure the safe and efficient execution of insulation projects. you will coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to meet project deadlines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.key responsibilities:project planning and coordination:collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to review project plans, specifications, and schedules for insulation installations, upgrades, or repairs.develop work plans, construction schedules, and resource allocation strategies to ensure timely completion of insulation projects within budget and scope.coordinate with procurement teams to procure materials, equipment, and supplies required for insulation installations and fabrication activities.team leadership and supervision:lead and supervise a team of insulation technicians, fabricators, and helpers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project requirements.assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor work progress to optimize productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job site inspections to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance with regulatory requirements.insulation installation and fabrication:oversee the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of insulation systems, including thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, and fireproofing materials, according to engineering drawings and specifications.perform quality control inspections, thickness measurements, and material tests to verify the integrity and performance of insulation systems.quality assurance and control:implement quality control measures, inspection procedures, and documentation protocols to verify the quality and integrity of insulation installations and connections.conduct visual inspections, density tests, and adhesion tests to identify and resolve defects, voids, or inconsistencies in insulation materials.document inspection results, maintain records of insulation installations, modifications, and repairs, and ensure compliance with project specifications and client requirements.safety and regulatory compliance:enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices to mitigate hazards, prevent accidents, and promote a safe working environment for personnel involved in insulation operations.conduct insulation safety training, hazard assessments, and chemical exposure monitoring to ensure compliance with osha, ansi, and other regulatory requirements.investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.client communication and reporting:serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, milestones, and any issues or concerns related to insulation activities.prepare progress reports, work logs, and as-built drawings documenting insulation installations, modifications, and repairs, and communicate project status to project managers and clients as required.skillshigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in insulation technology, construction trades, or related field is preferred.previous experience as an insulation supervisor, foreman, or lead installer in industrial construction, commercial building maintenance, or insulation contracting.strong knowledge of insulation materials, fabrication techniques, and installation methods for thermal, acoustic, and fire protection applications.proficiency in reading and interpreting insulation drawings, specifications, and construction plans.leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of insulation personnel.familiarity with safety regulations, hazard recognition, and accident prevention practices in insulation construction and installation.ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality and safety in insulation operations.proficiency in microsoft office applications and insulation design software is desirable.
