Assistant estimator an exciting position has become available for a full-time assistant estimator based in cheshire. the successful candidate will support the estimator in preparing cost estimates for product manufacturing to aid management in bidding on or determining the sale price of products , whilst ensuring all manufacturing costs are accounted for and the best margin is achieved. working hours: monday - friday 8:15am to 4:30pm the company's site is located on the outskirts of crewe and is ideal for commuting from both crewe and stoke-on-trent. there is ample free carparking on site. dress down every friday. 25 days' holiday + bank holidays this is a permanent position offering the successful candidate the chance to develop and become an estimator. role requirements attention to detail.analytical skills.experience working in a fast-paced office environment.excellent planning skills.self-motivated and logical.ability to work under pressure and prioritise.excellent communication skills.it skills and knowledge of microsoft excel.mathematics and english gcse level or equivalent desirable knowledge of print, carton and leaflet manufacture.estimating function. role responsibilities include: support the estimator in preparing all quotations and prices.prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, cad drawings, artwork, specifications and related documents. compute costs by analysing labour, material and time requirements.resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.liaise with outworkers as required, achieving best price.report any accounts with poor margins or loss-making accounts for review to commercial director.any other tasks associated with this role, which are suited to the individual's abilities and level of training as directed by the line manager. company our client is a leading company specialising in packaging for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. since its origins in 1922, the company has had a strong heritage of providing specialist pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging services. why should you apply? the chance to join a well-established company.to join a fantastic team.to showcase your knowledge and skill set. if you're the ideal candidate our client is looking for, please send your cv by clicking the apply button
