about the job:

the independent sales representative develops profitable new business and grows sales for existing assigned accounts; these are primarily independent and smaller group customers (i.e., fewer than 5 stores).

evaluate and understand competitor strengths, weaknesses, financials, technology, new initiatives, and limitations within their defined territory.
sell new business concepts to clients; confirm that new and existing accounts meet established business criteria.
achieve or exceed sales, apsw, and gross margin budget; review accounts receivables on a weekly basis and take appropriate action to keep customers within terms.
review item selection versus industry/market/competition/season and make recommendations on item selection, plan-o-grams, and promotional planning or distribution guidelines.
this position has additional duties; special projects may be assigned.

minimum qualifications & requirements:

bachelor’s degree.
2 years of sales and/or customer service experience.
2 years of mclane-specific experience.
microsoft office skills (excel, word, powerpoint).
valid driver’s license and good driving record.
able to travel as required.
18 years of age.
