sr. financial analyst, financial planning & analysis - las vegas, nv

the purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation and coordination of the company’s planning and forecasting activities and to provide various financial analyses to support the company’s business operations.

essential duties and responsibilities:

assist in planning and preparation of the annual plan for the company. this includes the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement preparation as well as various associated analyses. assist in preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts for company earnings guidance revisions. assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-to-date actual versus forecast/plan variance report. perform in-depth analysis of results and identify trends and developments to senior management. partner with department heads to ensure timely and accurate forecast/plan submissions and variance analyses. assist in the development and production of monthly dashboard reports, providing regular updates on ytd, quarterly, and monthly performance to management. assist in preparing presentations and supporting materials for management. use financial systems and advanced microsoft excel functions to work with large data sets. assist departments with cost benefit analysis modeling for special projects on an ad hoc basis. responsible for staying abreast of best practices both internally and externally.

computer equipment and software:

thorough working knowledge of various software applications including microsoft office suite (outlook, excel, powerpoint, word). advanced knowledge of excel modeling required. experience with jd edwards or similar financial reporting system is preferred. experience with reportsnow and salesforce is a plus.


education:
bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.

experience:
minimum of 5+ years accounting & finance experience, preferably at a publicly traded company.
