our award-winning hydraulics client is looking for a design engineer. you will be responsible for mechanical engineering design for in-house and client platforms and custom designs. duties will include specification development, presentation to customers (both internal and external), developing design concepts, coordinating project activities, managing suppliers for component design, testing and evaluation, and failure analysis. work assignments may include being the sole engineer on a major project requiring advanced knowledge or a particular field of specialization.
major responsibilities:
· develop new products (platform or customer led opportunities) that meet performance, cost, and quality requirements.
· use of design and analysis tools to optimize designs.
· develop and execute new technology blocks that support innovative, breakthrough products that provide exceptional value to our customers
· generate clear technical documentation and procedures.
desired skills & experience
· bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university.
· 5 or more years related product or machine design experience covering all phases from concept development through production release.
· expertise in development and/or use of multiple design tools and programs. ptc creo, windchill and fea tool experience desirable.
· subject-matter expert in one or more related component technologies. motors, pumps, valves, precision castings, pneumatic components, gears, die cast housings, and bearings are desired areas of expertise.
