River tour guide / punt chauffeur - united kingdom, cambridge bay
Cambridge punt company are recruiting for our upcoming season, with some spaces available immediately. as a river tour guide you are the focal point of our business, you will be what people remember when they think about their boat trip with us. you will need to be customer focused and enjoy speaking to new people and putting people at their ease. you will require some charisma and be happy to be centre stage. you'll also need to be physically fit - on a busy day you may well punt 10 miles or more, so some athleticism will be useful. the job requires strength and stamina. we give you full training on how to punt and handle the boats with ease, you will not take your own tours until you are fully trained. we also give you a tour script which we expect you to learn, adapt and make your own, but all the information you'll need will be provided. we urge you to call us if you think this might be for you as we are a small company with limited spaces, and this is a popular job. you'll need to be available to work weekends and fully committed to july and august as these are our busiest months. language skills are a bonus as we have visitors from all over the world (even now!) punting experience is not necessary but would help greatly.
