Salary: up to gbp37,800 per annum contract type: full time - permanent location: glasgow, university of strathclyde international study centre job overview the university of strathclyde international study centre is looking for a subject lead in business to plan and manage the delivery of a wide range of undergraduate and pre-master's level modules to business students. to provide support and guidance to the team of academic tutors delivering these modules, and to line manage a number of our academic tutors. you will teach up to 15 hours a week within the subject area and provide the necessary cover for staff absence. key responsibilities * manage a team of academic tutors to contribute to ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience. * support the head of curriculum and progression in the management of programme delivery * design and oversee the delivery of teaching and assessment for an agreed set of modules in the subject area ensuring academic tutors teaching the modules are fully informed of the curriculum content, teaching schedules, assessment modes and deadlines; and ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience. * produce a set of agreed documentation for each course and module including course outlines, module handbooks, schemes of work and teaching material, with support and input from academic tutors. review documentation regularly for accuracy and appropriateness. * ensure that all assessments for agreed modules in the subject area are prepared in a timely fashion to agreed deadlines and are appropriate, fair, and secure, with support and input from academic tutors. * ensure all students on agreed modules receive effective assessment feedback. * teach modules and/or sessions in agreement with the head of subject. * mark assessments and record and report on teaching and assessment activity, including ensuring data is submitted accurately and within deadlines. * work in partnership with the head of quality assurance and enhancement to design and introduce new courses, modules and methods of delivery and assessment. * ensure that the design and delivery of all courses in the subject area are conducted with reference to and according to study group's and the university of strathclyde and relevant external agencies' quality frameworks, policies, procedures and codes of practice. * support head of curriculum and progression in liaising with external examiners for the subject area, providing information to external examiner as required. * analyse, respond to and plan and implement actions as a result of external examiner feedback and recommendations. * support the head of curriculum and progression in working with colleagues to monitor and observe teaching and learning activity, and supporting academic tutors with continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices. * ensure high levels of automatic progression are achieved for students across all agreed modules in the subject area. * analyse data and feedback from a wide variety of sources and monitor progress towards progression targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary. * prepare documentation for new modules for validation and for existing modules courses for re-validation. * develop and maintain effective relationships with key academic contacts at the university for the subject area, ensuring a full understanding of relevant university curriculum content, assessment modes and quality policies and procedures. experience & skills * masters degree * teaching qualification (preferable) * experience in teaching international students in the uk higher or further education * line management experience in a teaching and learning environment about us we are a global pathway provider in international education, working collaboratively with a number of top tier universities. voted as the 2017, 2018 and 2020 global pathway provider of the year, our people are united with the shared ambition of providing a world-class uk education to talented students from across the globe. organisational compliance study group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same dedication. applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the role, including checks with past employers, an enhanced check from the disclosure and barring service (dbs) and overseas criminal records if appropriate
