basic job functions:
the role of the safety coordinator is to lead the safety program for nssc. this person will continue to develop and provide safety training and maintain all safety, health, accident and worker’s compensation records. this person will also help establish safety policies, monitor osha compliance and make recommendations for safety practices/improvements. be a contributing and integral member of nucor’s local, regional, product group and corporate-wide safety teams. safety is the most important part of all jobs within nucor. therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. must be willing to work required hours, including flexibility for non-daylight shifts, and to be on-call in emergency situations 24/7.

minimum qualifications:1. safety-related degree, or equivalent experience.
2. proficiency in microsoft office (excel, word and powerpoint).
preferred qualifications:1. safety-related degree, or equivalent experience.
2. knowledge and experience in worker’s compensation.
3. osha vpp experience.
4. prior safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
