We are looking for a head chef who: can cook great food. understands margins, costings and has the creativity to create exceptional dishes is h&s aware, haccp confident and can run a compliant kitchen wants to cook and develop a strategy to drive the business forward is as happy turning out really good pub food as well as more inventive offerings wants to strive to produce the best food around we are looking for someone who is not necessarily working as head chef, as we will consider someone currently working at sous or senior sous level with real skills and talent, also someone who shares the same passion for great food and top class service, and also knows a thing or two about business. responsibility - the role involves the day-to-day running and development of the kitchen at this quality country inn, which focuses strongly on the highest standards of food quality. this is a great opportunity for a high calibre chef who has experience of managing a busy kitchen with a quality fresh food offer. you will be responsible for: · management and development of menus · achieving targets including margins and profitability · ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met and adhered to the ideal candidate - · previous experience, within a similar business essential · clear evidence of successfully delivering first class food to a discerning audience · people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead the kitchen team · financial awareness and organized (can write a well thought out and costed rota and menu) · full of new ideas and the ability to work with initiative · the ability to bring out the best in people, motivating and inspiring the staff to work to high standards · ambition to continually drive the business forward salary – c. 28k (depending on experience) plus tips. live in accommodation is not available. there will be flexibility regarding days off. if this sounds like the challenge you are looking for, please apply now for immediate consideration.
