We're looking for people with the skills and vision to build a better tomorrow. join siemens energy as an 'hvdc site manager', based in the southeast of england to join our growing lifecycle services business, managing the delivery of operations and maintenance activities for hvdc interconnectors between the uk and mainland europe. we're a world leader in asset management, operations, maintenance and engineering activities for high voltage substations, hvdc interconnectors, onshore & offshore wind farm grid connections and we work with a plethora of blue-chip international clients from the power transmission, distribution and generation sectors, who utilise our expertise to maximise the long-term availability and reliability of their assets to achieve the highest reliability of energy supply to their customers???. let's talk about you. your profile. • experience of delivering of operations & maintenance activities within a service environment. • previous experience of managing teams, including excellent interpersonal skills. • working knowledge of quality & asset management systems. • organised, practical, logical in work approach. • ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally at all levels within the organisation, as well as engage with customers and suppliers where required. • strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive. • excellent it skills, fluent with microsoft 365 products. • flexibility to travel between various sites in the uk and overseas when required. • educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline is preferred. your responsibilities. • line management of the operational technicians, engineers and network operators based at site, carrying out line management responsibilities in line with siemens energy policies. • ensure all site works are delivered in compliance with agreed work specifications, local management instructions, statutory requirements and health & safety regulations. • manage the planning and execution of all maintenance & warranty works for all equipment within scope of our contracts. all completed works should be recorded in line with business processes and procedures, utilising the mandated business and asset management systems. • ensure all work is carried out to a satisfactory quality and technical standard. • work closely with the finance & commercial teams to ensure timely completion of contract reviews, including forecasting and delivery of projects in line with revenue and ebit expectations, escalating risks and opportunities to senior management as and when identified. • participate in business productivity activities to maximise ebit on projects and drive future order winning activities in the business. • checking and signoff of project/contract purchase requisitions, calc sheets, variations etc. as mandated by siemens energy internal signatory protocols. • deliver high standards of qhse on all sites, with all operational staff fully understanding their personal responsibilities for qhse, including compliance to site safety rules and the investigation and reporting of accident, incidents and near misses. • support in the development of strategic partnerships with external organisations. let's talk about us.
