Fawkes and reece are now assisting in the search for a quantity surveyor to join a tier 1 main contractor on a huge project in bournemouth/poole. the project is gbp300mil worth of refurbishment/extension works on bournemouth and poole hospitals. you'll be required to look after the m&e packages and will be predominantly site based. as quantity surveyor, you'll be reporting into a senior quantity surveyor who will also be looking after the m&e packages on site. this is a fantastic opportunity for a quantity surveyor who has already had experienced in the m&e sector to join a main contractor with years worth of work on site. as quantity surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to: pre-contract: attending pre-commencement / pre-contract meetings attend meetings regarding all financial control procedures associated with the design development to ensure the recording of perceived risks and opportunities in the bid as required. post contract: financial reporting and control continually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand. commercial forecasting ensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable. attend regular review and commercial control meetings. liaise closely with the design and project management leads to ensure cross control management of risk management of contract variations contract review and production meetings main contract and external valuations and final accounts management of consultants and subcontractors feedback to the commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall. provide constructive comments on improving efficiency the ideal quantity surveyor will have: a degree or relevant qualification experience dealing with m&e packages commutable distance to bournemouth/poole on a daily basis this is a fantastic opportunity for a quantity surveyor who is looking to get into a tier 1 main contractor on a nationally renowned project which is sure to provide work for years to come. if you feel you'd be a suitable candidate for the role, please apply through the link below or call the office for a confidential chat
