essential duties and responsibilities

perform audits, reviews and compilations from planning to completion utilizing assurance software. perform agreed upon procedures engagements as they arise. coordinate compilations with accounting staff. communicate with clients - this occurs not only during engagements but also to assist with questions and provide gaap guidance throughout the year. assist training staff auditors. review staff audit workpapers as necessary. assist with annual audit planning for department perform research and write white papers when necessary to document support for accounting guidance decisions. assist non audit personnel with assurance questions prepare tax returns on not-for-profit clients and potentially for profit assurance clients.

skills/qualifications:

bachelor's degree in accounting, or 3-5 years' experience with a big firm minimum of three years auditing experience with a public accounting firm. understanding of audit, review and compilation processes from start to finish proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles application proficiency in quickbooks and microsoft office applications proficiency with audit software (specifically workpapers cs or accounting cs) a plus. research skills for authoritative guidance on accounting issues detail oriented, organized, comfortable in a paperless environment and an effective communicator.
