job description:

looking for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its planning organization. the position is the focal point for the execution of material planning activities to deliver high quality, highly engineered development and production hardware on-time to its customers. the selected candidate will be responsible for the timely performance of various planning tasks ranging from requirements planning & configuration management through the shipment of deliverables in support of nasa an dod programs. applicants must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of an integrated product teams (ipt) and program management to identify and mitigate risks. understand the master production schedule, and communicate with supply chain organization for impacts to schedule. create and manage demand to drive material requisition needs. provide material position data to support proposals. review and approve design layouts. participate in make/buy decision and vendor selection processes. review, approve and execute the implementation of engineering change request and maintain material master data in sap create and maintain detail inventory shortage report initiate purchase requisitions and change orders, and vendor shipments (returns and outside processing) initiate material ownership transfer requests

this job is considered a sensitive position in accordance with nasa guidelines. the selected candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per nasa's regulation subpart 1823.5 drug-free workforce. operation management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering disciplines preferred. experience in planning, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, operations, or related field. sap/erp system experience preferred. self-directed; strong planning and organization skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments. manage daily tasks and come back with solid results / solutions. ability to read engineering drawings. ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and cross-functional groups. knowledge of ace and/or lean six sigma is encouraged.
