Software test engineer - gbp35-45,000 + fully remote role + leading tech business + flexible hours + 33 days annual leave + career progression the company we are working with a market leader who are experiencing significant growth. they have a large product portfolio, which is ever being developed and as such are looking to a software test engineer to their team. you will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals to rigorously test some exciting software, in an international fintech setting. the role the role of the software test engineer is to design, build, test, and deploy effective test solutions that help facilitate shared team goals. working in a dynamic, cross-functional and multi-national agile team comprising of varied stakeholders. software test engineers are involved with testing a range of different software products ranging in scope from complex analytical data structures from amazon web services (aws), to intricate data api's as well as enquiry systems, cms, and stock management platforms. main duties include: * working with your team to ensure quality is built-in throughout delivery * analyse requirements, establish testing requirements, design, and execute tests & then automate * providing input for planning and estimating work within product teams. * typical tests may include system testing, user acceptance testing, technical architecture testing, security testing and test automation * develop, update and maintain testing standards and procedures across the delivery team including documentation * record and report on issues and key metrics * work with the application team and/or client to resolve any issues that arise in the delivery process what we are looking for the software test engineer will ideally have experience in a similar role and be a forward-thinking individual with attention to detail. ideally you will be/have: essential * must have experience in testing, with a combination of automated and manual experience * experience across testing layers - ui, api/service, data * understanding of design patterns, and implementation of test frameworks using web languages for testing web apps (e.g. pom) * the ability to apply behaviour driven testing (bdd) / test driven development (tdd) approaches. * confidence to mentor and coach team members and teams * highly proficient in requirements analysis and feedback * creating and maintaining tests suites * proficient with mysql or or other database technologies * proficient using version control systems (git) * experience of using ci/cd tools such as jenkins, teamcity, codepipeline enabling automation at scale * software development life cycle processes * proficient with mysql or other database technology * experience with testing life cycle, writing test scripts and executing tests, as well as test environment management * proficient in black box testing, functional testing, integration, system testing, release testing, exploratory testing, and cross browser testing. advantageous * development experience / experienced in web languages * proficient in using linux cli / shell scripting * skilled in atlassian based products - jira confluence and bitbucket * experience in software development life cycle processes * experience of docker and cloud platforms (aws, azure & gcp) * experience of browserstack / crossbrowsertesting / saucelabs. * microservice & severless experience what is on offer the software test engineer will join a growing business and receive a competitive basic salary of gbp35-45,000 (doe). in addition, you will benefit from a fully remote role with flexible working & hours at a leading tech business. benefits include 33 days annual leave + birthday off, career progression, company pension & healthcare/benefits
