position summary:

identifies, selects, and manages global supplier relationships for assigned commodities to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. may ensure all engineering, customer, security and ehs requirements are met. subject matter expert (sme) for assigned commodities.

executes sourcing vision and strategy for assigned commodities, including best value country (bvc) objectives and developing team synergy. collaborates with other internal functions to ensure that we meet customer requirements. monitors supplier relationships to ensure strategic alignment and sustainability. ensures standardized processes are followed as required.

responsible for driving material cost downs, supplier terms improvement, bvc sourcing, commodity strategies and annual operations planning for a select group of commodities. manages global supplier relationships, including electronics, and other assigned commodities, to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required.

reviews rfq packages and spreadsheet analysis to make recommendations for improvement. identifies potential suppliers and makes recommendations on supplier selections based on total cost analysis and quality compliance. performs supplier negotiations and determines most competitive total cost solutions using creativity and latitude.

defines, drives and implements continuous improvement projects to ensure objectives are met. provides inputs to simplification projects in the overall supply chain process. provides expertise to internal team as well as other internal functions.

major responsibilities:

direct material sourcing, collaborating with commercial system%26rsquo;s other sourcing team members meet business and individual objectives, including significant material cost downs, payment terms improvement and best value country sourcing objectives, as well as others. interact closely with commercial system%26rsquo;s plants, to meet customer requirements and to identify areas of cost down and bvc sourcing manage all supplier relationships within assigned commodities, including globally with bvc suppliers supplier negotiations and contracting manage individual commodity/commodities. performs supplier negotiations and determines most competitive total cost solutions. support commercial system%26rsquo;s director of global sourcing and sourcing manager, where appropriate/necessary, for career growth understands electronic the component market and ems supplier base thoroughly work closely with engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives. align supply chain commodities and strategy to objectives %26ndash; for sustaining production, new product development %26amp; introduction, and research %26amp; development activities. work closely with engineering to define standard and custom product requirements. develop a commodity / supplier strategy%26rsquo;s technology roadmaps, aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities. responsible for driving a avl (approved vendors list) for commodity, supplier selection and use of regal%26rsquo;s qualification process. ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology. regular bom and component cost reviews good understanding of cost modeling

required education / experience / skills:

bachelor%26#39;s degree or equivalent related experience. 5+ years. master%26rsquo;s degree a distinct positive electronics commodity background a plus, but not mandatory green belt in lean six sigma within 3 years proven negotiation skills proven track record obtaining material cost out (mco) savings background and track record of successful best value country (bvc) sourcing ability to build relationships, both externally and internally, to deliver successful team objectives ability to think and act strategically in support of business and team objectives
