this is an exciting opportunity to continue to lead our client's operations team in their lean journey and continue to help meet strategic growth plans. under the direction of the vp of operations, this director is accountable for managing the people, safety, quality, factory productivity, lean initiatives, & culture and will ensure the achievement of key kpi performance metrics within the manufacturing organization with focus on meeting/exceeding customer expectations.

key responsibilities:

lead the identification and implementation of state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and systemspromote and foster a culture that results in a safe working environmentdevelopment/execution of reliable operational budgets/forecastsdeliver year on year annual productivity objectivesprovide leadership to ensure the seamless coordination, execution and integration and establishment of a lean operating system by driving synergies (processes, resources, best practices) across facilitiesdrive completion of identified business transformation initiatives by developing clear change strategies, dimensioning business impact/benefits, and overseeing implementation/executionadvance delivery performance to customersprovide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the best people while fostering an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities to achieve desired business resultsstreamline operating systems to eliminate redundancy, create scale and enable synergies from staff to the plant floorprovide leadership to fully leverage external, and internal, benchmarking and standardization within the organizationprovide leadership to fully leverage standard practices to minimize waste and enable continuous improvement to drive improved business results, e.g., visual management and value stream mappingprovide leadership and coordination of activities among the business teams, sector management, staff functional groups, and manufacturing teams to ensure financial objectives are metcontinually improve existing business processes to enhance project execution success, speed-to-market initiatives, quality, and customer-service to meet identified objectivescommercialize projects that meet objectives in safety, cost, quality, productivity, customer service, and corporate ethicsbuild a cost reduction environment through continuous improvement and best practice implementation while achieving operational efficienciesexceed customer expectations in quality, cost, delivery, service, and project launches all while collaborating with cross functional teams to win and implement new businesscoach and develop staff through individual development plans that ensure succession planning for all levels of the plant. increase the level of technical knowledge of core business processes to develop key talentensure a culture which values people's contribution to success is continually supported and enhance through leadership example. direct all aspects of plant communications to ensure employees understand their respective role in attaining the business goalsregularly review the efficiency of manufacturing operations to forecast and prepare manufacturing capabilities to meet customer demandscollaborate with facilities & maintenance to ensure manufacturing equipment is operating safely and at a maximum level of efficiencydevelop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees (capacity planning)review production costs & product quality modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitability

key qualifications:

bachelor's degree in engineering (technical degree) or business, advanced degree preferred10+ years manufacturing and operational experience with technical knowledgeextensive experience in implementing manufacturing robotics/automation preferredtechnical knowledge of injection molding preferred, but not requiredexperience managing manufacturing facilities with injection molding, assembly, and packaging operations preferredexperience implementing automated manufacturing processes and systemsknowledge & experience in the application and management of budgeting, financial measurement, and analysis systemspassion and drive for implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvementconfident and analytical leader with demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask and make decisions quicklydata driven leader who leverages this data to lead in a metrics-driven environment and holds his/her team accountable to established metrics; has created kpis, and metrics for a company in a high growth environmentdemonstrated ability and experience transforming an organization to achieve lean as part of the cultureexperience implementing automated manufacturing processes and systemsexceptional communication skills possess exceptional communication skills that are transparent, appropriately challenging, and conducive to an environment where issues are identified and resolvedexperienced leader who can interface & communicate at all levels of the companydemonstrated & effective leadership style with a positive and proactive approach to management with the proven ability to build teams of top talent and foster a culture of high performanceeffective change agent through communication, coaching and raising the bar to drive high-performing teamsmust be proficient with common microsoft software programs word, powerpoint, excel, outlook & teams
