the  market competitive insights consultant, focusing on the optumrx and optum store businesses, will deliver actionable market and competitive insights and strategic recommendations to key executives within target business areas - sales, marketing, strategy and product management. to do this, the market competitive insights consultant will conduct primary and secondary research initiatives, transforming competitive and market data into purposeful insights that are understandable, accurate, relevant, and actionable.

primary responsibilities:

acting as a research consultant, identify stakeholder needs and lead market research and competitive intelligence efforts, both secondary and primary, for the optumrx businesses develop research plans to support competitive and market intelligence gathering, assuring delivery of research on time and within budget  manage supporting research initiatives by implementing the entire research process, defining the research scope and budget, selecting the appropriate research methodologies, managing research vendor relations, interpreting and analyzing data and information, as well as synthesizing disparate data, developing reports, communicating and presenting research finding and implications to members of the organization collect and perform analysis on multiple disparate pieces of competitive and market intelligence, identifying insights and recommendations for strategic actions manage and implement internal systems, templates, and tools to maximize the efficient delivery of market and competitive intelligence contextualize external market trends across macroeconomic, market, and competitor environments into implications for the firm present research findings and implications to all levels within the organization monitor news and information sources for impactful stories or trends, gathering data about optumrx competitors, customers, and partners, and keeping leaders and stakeholders collaborate with other market & customer insights members on the optumrx team to deliver integrated, strategic insights to the business

required qualifications:

bachelor’s degree 5+ years of experience in market research or competitive intelligence demonstrable experience with primary and secondary research methodologies     solid experience with microsoft excel, powerpoint, and word and market research tools experienced and comfortable with presenting in person and via webex, zoom, or microsoft teams to large groups at all levels of the organization ability to tell a story and provide a point of view and recommendations using data to influence leaders

preferred qualifications:

mba/mha/mph experience in the pharmacy care business or pharmacy delivery industry experience in the healthcare space experience in the e-commerce, online retail, or direct-to-consumer (dtc) industry ability to use various competitive intelligence methodologies (swot, porter’s 5 forces, pest, etc.) ability to build partnerships and trust with individuals at all levels of the organization be a self-starter and able to work independently; work with a sense of urgency and be comfortable with ambiguity and constant change; approach work in an enthusiastic, positive, and collaborative manner demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize deliverables proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and extremely organized
