summary – job responsibilities – activities:

this position is responsible overall for managing the product lifecycle and profitability of the product line with an initial emphasis on growth of sales globally. the plm will be the sme for the product and will be leading cross-functional teams to plan, develop, execute, the sales and business development efforts for the product. the role will involve identifying and leveraging industry networks and relationships to identify and qualify new business opportunities, successfully positioning amsc for winning new business in the electric distribution sector. in this role, you will work closely with our regional account managers to help their customers learn about the distribution statcoms, accelerating adoption and usage of the product. we are looking for an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced, initially unstructured environments to define, develop, and help execute a go to market plan, make refinements while learning and consistently deliver on revenue targets. the right candidate will have very strong communication skills to skillfully create & articulate compelling value propositions around amsc. the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of power electronics products, its applications and electric power distribution industry knowledge as well as experience for industrial power systems and usages.

functions:

develop market strategies and tactics to gain recognition in the marketplace as well as win new clients. seek, develop, and execute a planned approach to targeting and successfully winning specific new accounts. be constantly engaged and building relationships in the electricity distribution sector.research, identify, qualify & target potential clients & develop access strategy to initiate contact. direct the strategic opportunity pursuit: find, strategize, pitch, solve, win.build up a network of relationships (present-term and long-term) that drive value and leads within vertical markets. cultivate a strong partnership with all major vendors.active participant in the bid response phase for opportunities generated, ensure proposals are completed accurately and timely. participate in negotiation and contract finalizations with prospective clients.oversee and create necessary sales tools, internal processes, metrics, and proposal process to insure a smart, results-driven sales environment, while assuring consistency with corporate goals and objectives.existing product maintenance – define continuous improvement, upgrades, and cost reduction to the existing product offering, incorporating customer feedback and fine tune target application and market.manage the product offering to minimize customer specific designs.analyze market and technology trends, market data, customer positioning, competition, and drive business opportunities.provide leadership in determining necessary marketing programs and market presence to drive industry awareness of amsc’s statcom.define product (line) strategy and roadmap: product enhancements, design-to-cost measures, and product phase-out for defined product (line). trigger product and concept development projects according to the roadmap.develop business plan to prove the sustainability, profitability, and growth of product line.develop and execute to forecast (achieve annual opportunity and overall financial plan targets). manage and control product pricing strategies, gross margins, and overall p&lfunction as a strategic partner with the executive team in assisting future product directions.  provide strategic thinking regarding new initiatives.education – experience: ba or bs in electrical engineering, mba preferred5 years business management required5+ years of electrical power industry experience, with previous product management or sales experience a plusrequired skills, competencies, authorities and training needs: excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skillsstrong ability to maintain excellent customer relationsproven experience in new account creation versus existing account management is required.a problem solver; hands-on style; does what has to get done and is less worried about whose “job it is”. active team player.possesses uncompromising integrity.  excellent organizational and analytical skillspreference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following areas: distribution engineering, business development, product management, marketing, or sales.25%-50% travel required; domestic and internationalproof of covid-19 vaccination requiredamsc is an eeo m/f/d/v
