this individual will be a  senior technical resource for the organization, regularly interacting with other senior managers. will act as the expert in packaging development and packaging engineering. identify, define and solve complex business problems by applying broad technical and consumer knowledge as well as an in-depth understanding of packaging technologies related to all products.define and lead material development programs for global cross category team, addressing technical challenges and emerging technology needs across the portfolio. offer consumer insights to provide input to programs, define technical strategies and act as gatekeeper for technical rigor on material specifications. senior member of the global packaging team, to build strong cross functional partnerships with r&d, quality, manufacturing and procurement.  manage all relevant compliance policies and government regulations.  act as the technical advisor for flexible packaging materials for the global packaging leadership team -  leveraging your experience and knowledge of polymer technology, performance, and product/package interaction with the team.
requirements:
must have an packaging or engineering degree, prefer masters or phd
•5+ experience in packaging flexible materials, focus on designing experiments/work tracks to land solutions, grounded in sound data, that meet technical and equipment program requirements
•successful track record in project management and implementation of new ideas
•demonstrated thought leadership and drive for results, with ability to formulate strategy while planning and problem solving in a dynamic and outcome-oriented environment
• experience in multi-functional and multi-cultural project teams
•ability to leverage internal and external resources and working in a highly matrixed environment
•strong background with innovation
•strong technical network, inclusive of suppliers, technology partners, universities, and research institutes
•ability to coach and inspire junior developers in packaging community
•strong influencing capabilities with the ability to effect change internally throughout the organization (supply chain, procurement, marketing, r&d) and externally with end-to-end value chain partners from raw material suppliers to recyclers.
12+ years experience, preferably in packaging and/or cpg industry
