robert half is seeking an accounts payable (a/p) clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. this role will require the candidate to attend to the general administrative needs of the ap/finance department and work closely with the accounting manager. the essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving a/p issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to g/l and processing checks are primary areas of focus. join a fast-growing team in this exciting job opportunity that offers career growth. this accounts payable clerk role will be located in the charlottesville, virginia area and will be a long-term position.
major responsibilities
- accomplish full-cycle a/p
- verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling
- sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents
- carry out additional tasks as assigned
- perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed
- handle the customer service needs of internal business partners
- handle the administrative needs of the ap/finance department
- open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
- help with internal and external audits as required
- knowledge of microsoft excel- accounts payable (ap) experience desired
- reconcile cash experience preferred
- proficiency in administrative proceedings
- inventory reconciliation experience highly desired
- detailed and have the ability work independently
- prior experience in an a/p role preferred
- aa or bs/ba degree in accounting, business or similar preferred
- strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
