Quality control inspector-direct hire - united states, wheeling
perform duties to ensure customer products are produced and packaged following specifications and establish quality standards.
core accountabilities
compare products being run on each line with the production schedule to ensure proper products are being produced. perform specified inspection procedures on products in production such as drop test flame treatment test, top load test label application, data coding on cases, and proper packaging. perform inspection on final packaged units as prescribed. report all rejected products to shift supervisor and follow through until defect is corrected. place product on hold as necessary, fill out accurate reports and give information to shift supervisor. work closely with packers and supervisor to resolve problems. check and assist machine operators with maintaining spc charts. use micrometer, calipers, gauges, height gauge, weigh scales, drop test equipment, vertical load tester, density meter, knife, and bar code scanner. follow safety rules and keep the work area clean and orderly. perform other related duties as assigned.competencies and qualifications
minimum of 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, quality control, or related field required.
ability to work with calipers, micrometers, and other types of testing equipment require
maintain a positive attitude in a team environment
a high school diploma or equivalent is required
involves periods of standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks, and platforms in hot or cold production environments on slippery surfaces to direct operations and evaluate situations.
occasionally lift 50lbs
