the optimal care clinical program manager is responsible for planning and implementing program innovation initiatives selected for participation by wellmed including, but not limited to, optimal care, referral management, pilot projects, and community partnerships endeavors related to the populations we serve. the manager will develop project deliverables, budgets and timelines related to program activities and provide clinical guidance for assigned projects/studies. the manager coordinates staff training and program activities with operational staff to ensure their success and to meet program needs and compliance with program requirements. the manager collaborates with stakeholders related to program initiatives such as market operations, provider relations, it, hce, and senior leadership. the manager evaluates program success through appropriate evaluation methods including, but not limited to, patient/provider focus groups, customer service/provider surveys for customer experience feedback and data analysis.

primary responsibilities:

plans and implements program innovation initiatives selected for participation by wellmed including optimal care, pilot projects, and community partnerships related to the populations we serve develops project deliverables, budgets and timelines related to program activities, as needed provides guidance, reviews clinical protocols, and collects clinical data for assigned projects/studies develops and implements policies and procedures related to assigned programs and projects fosters open communication by interacting directly with the markets, departments, and senior leadership; acts as a resource to all internal and external customers to ensure smooth program operations plans and manages activities of assigned programs provides constructive information to minimize problems and improve project outcomes seeks ways to improve job efficiency and makes appropriate suggestions following the organizational structure in collaboration with operational partners, coordinates staff training and program activities to ensure their success and to meet program needs and compliance with program requirements oversees and actively participates in activities to evaluate program success and achievement of program outcomes utilizes appropriate evaluation methods including, but not limited to, data collection, data analysis, conducting patient/provider focus groups, customer service/provider surveys for customer experience feedback monitors processes to ensure projects/programs are successful, including maintaining continuous quality improvement activities to ensure outcomes achieve targeted performance goals ensures timely preparation of reports, and records for dissemination to stakeholders attends required meetings, contributes and participates in committees as requested participates and assists in professional development training activities and education programs to keep staff abreast of health care trends and practices performs all other related duties as assigned
 

this is an office-based position, oaks ii/network blvd., 78249 / office park located at ih 10 east and de zavala road / occasional local and non-local travel is required as determined by the business

required qualifications:

bachelor of business administration, health administration, nursing or related field required (4 additional years of experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree) at least 5 years of healthcare experience to include experience in a managed care setting, hospital setting and/or physician practice setting minimum 3 years of project management experience in a healthcare environment solid data mining, analytical and reporting skills required. must be able to review and interpret data to make recommendations to senior-management proficiency in microsoft word, excel and powerpoint applications out-of-town travel required as deemed necessary by business need full covid-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. candidates located in states that mandate covid-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. unitedhealth group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance
