job summary:

a field service engineer will provide assistance in the areas of installation, preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting and repairing inductotherm corp. large capital equipment at customer’s plant site or related designated areas.

education:

bsme or bsee or 3 years’ hands on experience.

essential functions:

must have good basic math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and working with fractions. familiar with electricity & test equipment and able to use volt meter and o-scope. able to read electrical prints. work independently and exercise good judgment with no direct supervision. responsible in the handling and care of equipment and tools. maintain a safe working environment for oneself and co-workers at all times. perform general housekeeping as required. able to travel worldwide – 90% of the time. must have own transportation to and from office while on local jobs. fluent in english – both spoken and written. will be required to complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.

non-essential functions:

basic computer familiarity. high voltage/power experience. geometry. familiar with current meters & recording devices. able to read mechanical, hydraulic and water prints. able to speak foreign languages, a plus.

essential physical requirements:

the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. able to stand, climb, and bend for 8-10 hours. have good strength and be able to lift up to 51 lbs. work environment involves situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. must be able to work in extreme conditions, i.e.: hot, cold, dirty environment. able to see, have good perception, and distinguish between colors. have valid driver’s license, and able to drive an automobile. neat business like appearance. able to travel on short notice by public transportation including (i.e.: aircrafts, trains, bus, cars) domestically and internationally.
