if you have a passion for human resources and you're looking for an exciting, new generalist opportunity, robert half has the opportunity for you as a human resources generalist. in this role, you will perform various hr duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.

key responsibilities

- accountable for completing various tasks and the daily operations of the hr department

- manage employee relations, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employee

- manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews

- collaborate with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors

- create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters

- conduct employee performance reviews, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)

- develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite

- compare federal, state, and local laws to current internal policies and procedures

- collaborate with other hr team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees

- develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on hr policies, internal procedures, and regulations

- design & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections

- design templates for hr documents, including the employee handbook- prior full cycle recruiting experience

- strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws

- prior hr experience in a generalist capacity

- prior experience or knowledge managing open enrollment is a plus

- experience using applicant tracking systems (ats) and human resources information systems (hris)

- excellent written and verbal business skills

- b.a. or b.s. degree preferred, preferably with a human resources or psychology emphasis

- proficient with social media platforms as well as office computer applications and software

- able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
