Sports director - united states, flint
mid-michigan now (weyi/wsmh in flint, mi) is looking for a sports director. the person we are seeking to join our on-air sports team will bring a unique combination of journalistic and broadcasting skills. in this role, you will provide content for our local broadcast and digital platforms, as well as maintain a robust presence on our social media pages. your responsibilities as a sports director will include reporting, shooting, and editing stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned.

the ability to work well independently
strong leadership skills
smooth delivery
sharp video shooting and editing skills
exemplary communication and organizational skills
must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
requirements and qualifications:
a minimum of 2-3 years anchor & reporting experience is required
bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred
experience with live shots is required
experience with live-u is a plus
exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style
strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
