about the position:
we are seeking an experienced metal worker to join our solar roof crew based out of kingston, ny. reporting to the solar roof crew lead, you will work on new roofing, re-roofing, and roof repair projects throughout the hudson valley and capital region. committed to delivering the suncommon customer experience, you will lead custom construction projects and provide training for new roofers.

what you'll do as a metal worker (responsibilities):ensure adherence to quality and safety procedures, including the use of fall protection equipmentwork in a team with other installers on new roof, re-roof and roof repair projectsthrive in an ever-changing industry, tackling new opportunities with a positive attitudekeep up-to-date on latest code and roofing installation techniques, and apply new knowledge to the jobactively contribute to a positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable team environmentabout you (qualifications)
the ideal candidate will have:5+ years of metal working experienceexperience with standing seam roofs preferred, including layout and custom fabrication from sheet metal using a metal brakeknowledge of solar/electrical systems is desired but not required; if you don’t know solar yet, we will train you!experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsknowledge of building codes and standardstop-notch customer service, communication, and relationship building skillsability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, balance, climb ladders and work in varying weather conditionsvalid driver's license and flexibility to travel throughout the hudson valley and capital regioncommitment to suncommon’s purpose and visionperks & benefits:fully paid medical premiums and a significant contribution toward medical deductible expenses, for you and your familyfully paid dental premiums for you and your family3 weeks pto for 1st year and 4 weeks for year 2+401k with company matchstudent loan paydown programstock purchase program, and more!how we work
