summary: the senior gas marketing advisor will develop and maintain sales arrangements for company owned and controlled natural gas contracts. the selected candidate will negotiate contracts, review gas settlement statements, and prepare gas balancing statements and maintain and develop relationships with midstream gatherers and processors across the permian basin. the incumbent will be required to coordinate allocation procedures and track market pricing as well as handling nominations, confirmations, and scheduling of natural gas.
job duties and responsibilities:
include but are not limited to:
perform nomination, confirmation and scheduling functionsmanage volumetric imbalancesdraft new sales and purchase contractsconsults with management on opportunities for contract upgrade through alternate markets or contract negotiationsreview daily production, sales and flaring reportsmaintain meter testing schedules and gas analysis sampling reports to insure witnessing by company representatives and proper testing proceduresmaintain working relationships with various midstream processing and gathering companiesassist in the development of a gas contract administration systemcoordinate well connections with midstream processing and gathering companiesprepare and review contracts and purchase and transportation agreementsperform market research to maintain a working familiarity with u.s. oil and natural gas markets, to identify new sales prospects, and to monitor alternative or creative contract termsanalyze assets including terminals, commercial trading agreements and different modes of operationserve as key contact between operations and legal and between operations and the commercial departments at diamondback’s midstream partnersrequired qualifications:
bachelors degree (bba or bs) in business, finance, economics, engineering or related disciplinetwenty (20+) years of relevant experience in an oil and gas marketing positionfifteen (15+) years of understanding and analyzing gas settlement statementseight (8+) years of advanced experience with excel, access, and other analytical tools (pivots, tables, vlookup's, etc.)experience reading gas contracts and preparing briefsmust have a strong analytical capability; be able to analyze data from multiple sources and compile information in an easy-to-understand formatpreferred qualifications:
master’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or related disciplinefamiliar with oilfield terminology and operations relocation:
