summary: the corporate attorney position will require an individual who is able to provide a wide range of legal services and advice to various departments and business units throughout the company. the successful candidate will primarily assist in the management of litigation matters but will also need to competently provide a variety of other general legal services including evaluation, drafting and negotiation of contracts.
job duties and responsibilities:
include but are not limited to:
assisting with disputes and litigation matters including pre-litigation investigation and risk analysis; litigation support including effectively communicating and coordinating with outside counsel, gathering relevant documents, preparing discovery responses, deposition preparation, and evaluating and recommending options for dispute resolution.responding to subpoenasproviding legal services to various departments and business units regarding a variety of transactional and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, master service agreements, information technology agreements, equipment leases, and other commercial arrangements.completing special projects as requestedassisting with managing outside counsel relationships and services required qualifications:
j.d. from an accredited law schooladmission to a state bar with ability to practice in-house in the state of texasthree (3+) years of law practice in a firm, governmental agency, or in-housethree (3+) years of experience in reviewing documents and applying legal advice in a timely and practical mannerdemonstrated ability to learn and understand the business and operational functions of the company in order to analyze and advise on litigation risk and assist in the management of litigationdemonstrated excellent communication, analytic, and organizational skills, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents and apply legal advice in a timely and practical manner preferred qualifications:
