job summary:       the director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of programs and staff involved in direct service provision to survivors of domestic abuse.  these programs include:                               24-hour hotline

                                    emergency safe house

                                    safe house children’s services

                                    peace: a learned solution (pals) children’s creative arts program

                                    domestic violence response team program

                                    counseling services

                                    advocacy services

                                    domestic violence liaison to dcpp (dvl) functions:   

participate in program development, evaluation and planning hire, train and supervise staff as appropriate coordinate training opportunities for staff participate in the monitoring of annual budgets oversee internship program at outreach/counseling center and safe house review or produce statistical and/or program reports monthly, quarterly or annually as required maintain membership in domestic abuse related and social service committees, groups and organizations serve on catholic charities committees as assigned oversee domestic abuse training for social service, law enforcement personnel and other professional organizations provide community education about domestic abuse and program services as needed participate in quality improvement committee and/or sub-committee as assigned

other duties:  as assigned

minimum qualifications: graduate degree in social work or related field. (relevant experience can be substituted). 2-3 years of administrative and supervisory experience required.  previous work with survivors of domestic abuse preferred.

licenses/certifications needed:  valid driver’s license required.

mandated program requirements:  providence house is a 24-hour residential program, as such requires staffing at all times.  when accepting a position with this agency it is important to know that the regular shift at the time of hiring is subject to change during the course of your employment, and that at times of staff emergencies or special events you may be required to fill shifts other than (instead of) your regular shift. this may include holidays.
