job summary
summary:this position promotes meal assistance to patients / residents on a daily basis. the nutrition ambassador will assist with meal selections, in the assembly and delivery of meals and food products for hospital patients / residents and visitors. accurately serves food and beverages to patients / residents in accordance wit the patient's / resident diet prescription. verbally communicates patient / resident concerns with the clinical dietitian i.e. education needs, inadequate meal consumption, etc. the nutrition ambassador will be involved in a number of activities relating to the delivery of quality customer service such as tray passing, menu explanation and collection, stocking unit kitchens and acting as the nutrition services representative. these responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and requirements.
some duties and responsibilities include:
maintains tray assembly is accurate and timely; ensures the patient is receiving what has been ordered and demonstrates high level of food quality and presentation when serving. orders processed and placed in the system accurately.
* completes all assigned tasks on "daily job checklist"on a consistent basis.
* reports any uncompleted tasks to supervisor in a timely fashion, as necessary.
* follows floor stock sheet and par levels, reports discrepancies to supervisor.
* ensures all food and/or supplies is ready for service at established times.
* maintains cleanliness of unit coolers following cleaning schedule.
* alert manager/supervisor well in advance if products need to be substituted and offers suggestions for service.
* any additional tasks delegated from the manager, supervisor, and team leaders as needed.
