Site superintendent ii - united states, lowell

borrego is seeking a site superintendent ii to join our growing team!  the primary responsibility of this position is to help lead a team and manage construction of commercial grid-tied pv systems. the site superintendent will be a well-organized, experienced construction professional.

position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

attend site walks and pre-construction planning meetings with the project manager and engineering team as requiredwork with the pm to create the construction schedule, determine labor requirements and perform project pre-planningmanage and maintain the construction schedule, reporting back to pm on a daily basiscommunicate with manager on project related safety, quality, and subcontractors performanceset goals for all subcontractors and motivate and manage to keep on taskmanage performance, productivity and work quality of all crews to complete projects on timeperform strict qa/qc inspections and keep inspection log up to date through all phases of the projectmanage and schedule sub-contractor(s)order and coordinate the delivery of material and equipment to optimize job efficiency, ensure production is not impacted or additional cost incurredindependently manage performance and productivity of subcontractorsset and obtain installation goalscontribute feedback and creative problem solving methodology to other borrego team membersadhere to borrego solar safety standards and installation best practicestake responsibility for safety of all crew memberswilling to address unsafe conditions and discipline crew members not complyingfollow site superintendent policy for required documentation and deadlines

desired qualifications:

minimum 5 years’ experience in construction managementmust have strong construction background with emphasis in mechanical and electrical systemsvalid state journeyman electricians highly preferredgeneral knowledge of civil construction activities, i.e., roadwork, trenching, grading, etc.disciplined, self-motivated work styleexperience working with and scheduling subcontractorsconfident leadership and ability to work independentlycomputer skills with microsoft products and google sheets/google drivedesire to stay on the leading edge of the solar industryexperience with electrical wiring in commercial applicationsexperience with mechanical installations, general construction and ladder workworking knowledge of the nec code and ac and dc electrical systemsworking knowledge of universal building codesgeneral understanding of common building materials and techniques (i.e. lumber, roofing materials, etc.)good communication and customer service skills and experienceteam player who listens, learns, and actively communicatesvisual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas staying active in pv technology and diagnostics
