the field services sales manager ensures and guides technical related sales support programs and activities both remotely and on-site, for an organization unit assigned, in order to effectively support sales team  and customer organization.

provide real-time technical support to internal or external customers (worldwide) for all nyab product lines. this includes trouble-shooting all products via phone or on-site. coordinate problem resolution as necessary with proper nyab staff such as engineering groups and customer call center (ccc).  all major product lines are to be supported such as ccb (1, 2, 26), ep-60, db-60, csctd, leader, tmb-60 and key freight components. interface and communicate with customers, agents, representatives and knorr employees to expand profitable sales domestically, as well as support these same goals internationally.  this includes forecasting, proposals and pricing, and order status. support key field activities including: field modification improvement efforts (fmi planning, implementation and tracking); commissioning; product launches and upgrades; and testing of nyab products per industry requirements (for example, single car tests with manual or computerized test devices, sample car inspections, brake shoe force tests, teardowns).  may act as field team leader. initiate and improve relationship with accounts to create sales opportunities, with primary focus on dormant or neglected accounts and utility accounts.  maintain frequent customer contact through regular visits to establish personal relationships. acquire and communicate to management competitive information whenever possible. maintain excellent knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures.  participate in railroad industry organizations and functions. participate in discreet strategic growth initiatives and projects. manage all facets of identified accounts as assigned, both technical and commercial.

skills

requires a strong technical background and proficiency with computer applications (ms office – word, excel, powerpoint). complete, current knowledge of company products individually and systematically when integrated into railcar and train systems. possess a professional attitude and project a positive company image. strong written, verbal communication and analytical skills. ability to travel domestically and internationally. able to perform off-hours work and on-call duties.

education and experience

bachelor’s degree in engineering or business

3-5 years of relevant experience
