summary: the scada / automation technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of communication and scada systems, maintaining system performance, and coordination of scada projects with internal stakeholders while liaising with external vendors. this position will also perform root cause analysis and implement solutions for automation systems. xspc and topserver configuration is also part of the routine duties and responsibilities for this position.
job duties and responsibilities:
serve as system administrator for xspoc users and maintain a high level of internal customer support provide timely updates on special projects and system performance maintain microsoft-based scada servers and network equipment adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures capable of identifying all risks associated with any assigned work prior to execution configure xspoc and topserver to collect data from field rtu’s schedule and perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and system updates ability to investigate root cause of problems and implementation of solutions to prevent future occurrence able to troubleshoot using p&ids and loop diagrams familiarity with plcs and oil and gas instrumentation and control systems daily meeting and scheduling of activities with team members and contractors train team members and operators on operation of xspocattend all required safety and training meetings available for after hour emergencies and upgrades
required qualifications:
minimum high school diploma or equivalent minimum of (5) years of i&e oil and gas related experience knowledge in scada network architecture must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license able to satisfy insurability standards to drive a company vehicle
preferred qualifications:
self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision good communication skills both verbal and written basic knowledge of plc programming knowledge of microsoft sequel data bases
