the role reports to the drives service workshop manager and is located in new berlin, wisconsin. as a lead repair technician - 2nd shift, you will be executing service work according to agreed work flows and in accordance with abb standard process and safety guidelines. deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customer. in close co-operation with customer and other abb teams. in addition, partners with the service workshop repair technicians and is responsible for ensuring all service repairs are produced with high quality and on time. the service team leader is also responsible for implementation of continuous process improvements and safety improvements in accordance with abb way. in addition, service team leader will schedule and delegate work assignments, and monitor repairs to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met.

key responsibilities: support schedule and priority planning, team training, technical resource and day-to-day operational support in the work area.



your responsibilities

working team lead role assisting manager in leading the personnel and functions with estimated allocation of time being 25% for team lead duties and 75% for repair dutiescompletes repair plan by scheduling & assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, reducing backlog, communicate & push expedites, resolving problems, monitor and reduce rework, reporting results, etc.coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments and specifications. suggest and implement measures to improve operations and customer serviceassist with day-to-day tasks including training, resource assignments, load leveling, vacation requests, and attendance trackingbuild and develop processes and procedures to support operational goals and strategic plancreate and/or improve documentation for related process procedures and instructionsconduct regular team meetings and group discussionsensure that established policies and procedures are followedmonitor repair/refurbishment production to ensure the quality and delivery metrics are metact as the technical resource to all repair technicians, utility technicians, and material handlers in the work areastrain repair technician on abb repair concepts to develop a highly effective, and knowledgeable individualswork to ensure service repair part stocking strategy is consistent with the needs of the team, and monitor inventory and inventory transactions to ensure inventory accuracycreate and execute plans to ensure continuous product and process cross training for each employee in the assigned work areascontinuously review repair processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity and quality while reducing costsconfer with service workshop operations manager and human relations regarding personnel and disciplinary issuesmeasure and report operations key performance indicators (kpis), and drive corrective actions to close any gaps versus targetsensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records, documentation, reporting, etc.provide input for other areas of the business, based on experience and areas of expertiseensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and company policies



your background
