job responsibilities
your specific duties as a quality engineer will include:
we are looking for a quality engineer. to provide technical knowledge of customer requirements and needs, to ensure the quality systems are implemented, maintained and adhered to in such a manner as to ensure that customer expectations are met. manage the plant quality management system to comply with industry standards iatf 16949:2016, iso 9001:2015 and customer specific requirements. active participation in advanced quality planning (aqp) for products and processes in assigned areas. act as customer liaison. communicate containment and corrective actions to the customer coordinate special containment activities at the customer site and follow up on results until permanent corrective action validation. perform root-cause analysis on all internal and/or external problems using statistical problem solving methods (i.e. d.o.e., anova, regression analysis) to prevent its re-occurrence. lead or participate in the process of collecting, analyzing and summarizing scrap, rework and warranty data. manage continuous review and research of product/process quality improvements in assigned area to positively impact such indicators. weekly review of customer specific websites (covisint, gm supply power, chrysler esupplier connect, plex). identity and report discrepancies in a timely manner. provide training to employees in assigned area to improve qos. active participation on internal, customer and iatf 16949 audits, quality planning, assurance and implementation associated with engineering changes (ecrs). on-going management of quality systems, processes and procedures. plan, lead and conduct internal quality assurance audits. coordinate, evaluate, and assist in developing action plans and follow up of quality issues. facilitate client initiated audits. coordinate and host audits and inspections. respond to and develop cas for audit non conformities. manage sop system. develop and implement requisite sops for iatf 16949 compliance and customer requirements. provide internal support and guidance on the applicable processes within the quality management system and iatf 16949. responsible to schedule and manage the plant lpa (layered process audit) schedule and overall system administration responsible to schedule and manage the plant iatf internal audit schedule to include the management of the plant internal auditors within the system. may be given certain authority within job scope by manager each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the federal-mogul integrity policy.quality engineer
job requirements
as a quality engineer you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. you must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. it is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
bachelor’s degree in related field or 5 years experience in a quality engineer or directly related role. demonstrated iatf, iso/ts 16949 experience. demonstrated understanding of advanced spc, d.o.e.’s, fmea’s, control plans, process/product capability analysis, apqp, and specific customer requirements. demonstrated experience in quality systems and iatf 16949 standard implementation. must have strong interpersonal skills to work well with customers and other engineers and operators. must have a thorough understanding of problem solving methodologies (g8d, prr, 7 step, 3l5w, deep drill and wide). must be familiar with microsoft computer platforms and software. demonstrated experience of a thorough understanding of advanced spc, d.o.e.’s, fmea’s, control plans, process/product capability analysis, apqp, and specific customer requirements. demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to work well with customers and other engineers and operators. demonstrated understanding of problem solving methodologies (g8d, prr, 7 step, 3l5w, deep drill and wide). an equal opportunity employer. all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.quality engineer
