this individual will develop business skills and practical working knowledge of: internal and external communications, financial management and accounting, international business economics, customer services and strategic management. at the end of the twelve month residency, the successful candidate will be able to plan, schedule, prepare and execute production order details. additionally, they will compile and prepare material requirement orders for inventory, issue requisitions for new and special materials, and revise and reschedule orders when necessary. they will also learn how to collaborate with inventory control, purchasing, engineering, tool room and other required areas in order to coordinate schedules.

job duties & responsibilities 

rotates through various business support departments within stihl inc to gain knowledge of daily business processes. specific areas include but are not limited to inventory control, sales planning and production planning. gains knowledge of manufacturing/business methodologies at stihl to support planning and manufacturing operations. plan, schedule and prepare production work order details in terms of products and components, codes and identities, material requirements, specified dimension and specification detail, routing, number of pieces, release date, shipping date, etc. correlate planning and scheduling with production departments to coordinate order release dates for manufacturing to obtain maximum utilization of machines and equipment, timing of subsequent operations such as assembly, shipping, etc. establish manufacturing lead time on regular orders to meet delivery commitments; assist with projecting order delivery dates for new orders. assumes additional related responsibilities as required.

specifications 

4 year college degree in business, engineering or related discipline exceptional written and communication skills experience using microsoft office suite self driven and motivated highly organized and proven attention to details ability to follow-up on assigned tasks preferred: experience using sap or related erp systems
