the role reports to the warehouse supervisor and is located in jonesboro, arkansas. as a inventory control - 2nd shift, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard or work sites with a forklift. you will play a crucial role in maintaining client partnerships, ensuring customer satisfaction with our products and helping our company meet its production targets. in this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience with a diverse array of machines and become part of a knowledgeable and supportive team. this position offers plenty of opportunities for you to grow within an industry-leading company.



your responsibilities

reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be movedopens containersloads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by handloads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transitconveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areassecures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destinationcounts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheetattaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containersloads trucks for industrial truck operatorstacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles togetherclamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or productsremoves samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysislifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operatorsmakes simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollersassembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehiclesshovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products



your background

must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyhigh school diploma or general education degree (ged)ability to learn, understand and follow company requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivityability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationsability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsability to comprehend and communicate detailed written or verbal instructionsability to solve problems in a standardized situation with some variablesability to work in a high noise environment that requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or pushing weights up to 50 poundsflexible in terms of shift scheduling, including scheduling for weekends, overtime and holiday shiftshave a strong commitment and ability to follow health and safety rules and procedures and utilize all required safety equipmentdetail oriented with good analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)knowledge of inventory software and manufacturing softwareminimum of one-year experience in driving powered industrial forklifts and/or reach trucks – and/or experience in operating pallet jacks or order pickingability to use company mainframe computer systemsability to run weight counting scalesgood math and problem-solving skillsability to make quality/ repair decisions based on visual inspections of products within prescribed guidelinescandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for abb in the us
