job description

electro static technology is seeking a buyer to support daily procurement activities, manage supplier relations and on-time delivery, focus on building a cost effective on-demand supply chain for all aspects of the manufacturing facility. the individual will maintain incoming materials needed to perform in all areas of the business and will work collaboratively across functions within the company.

essential job responsibilities

generate, adjust, and expedite purchase ordersidentify, develop, and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods/services.coordinate with cross functional team in the selection of suppliers in the product development cycle.issue requests for quotes/proposals (rfq/rfp) & select best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.evaluate bid responses, negotiate price, delivery schedules, and place purchase orders.monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as necessary. oversee inventory and delivery accuracywork with suppliers on non-conforming materials to find resolutions and when necessary, monitor to ensure credits are received in a timely manner.perform supplier quality audits.act as liaison between suppliers and internal departments to resolve procurement related problems.keep sales, customer service and production teams updated on order status.proactively identify potential disruptions to production due to the procurement process.identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts. guards against future inconsistencies.reviews and approves invoices for payment. resolve invoice issues when they arise.responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels consistent with production requirements and targeted inventory.ensure purchasing processes, procedures and policies are in place and consistently followed.perform all other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.job requirements
a bachelor’s degree in a related fieldminimum of 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.prior supplier auditing experience is desiredexperience with erp system is requiredable to read and interpret technical drawings
