starr regional medical center, part of lifepoint health, is a two-hospital system with campuses in athens and etowah. the athens campus provides inpatient and outpatient services through its 118-bed acute care facility and physician practices. starr regional medical center's etowah campus is home to an emergency department, outpatient services, an 88-bed skilled and long-term care nursing home, a senior care program and wound care center. 

our etowah campus is currently seeking talent to fill the position of radiology tech/cat scan tech in our imaging department. this job is permanent, full-time.

core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

reviews patient history and physician's orders. educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. when ordered, prepares, and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. prepares equipment and supplies. selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions, as necessary. implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions, as necessary. positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

qualifications:

associate degree of applied science in radiography is required. current arrt licensure is required. bls through american heart association or american red cross is required at the time of hire. requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
