description

the lead development engineer is a member of the product line management team with engineering responsibility for renal care. this role will be the key technical “evangelist” to help create a technical and product framework that bridges and applies technology to solve portfolio problems.

the lead development engineer leads the design activities associated with new and existing product and technology development projects. the ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader, considered a device subject matter expert (sme), and will provide project and engineering leadership in device and/or system identification, feasibility, development, qualification and launch readiness for designated product offering.

leveraging a deep technical understanding, while working closely with product management to define product roadmaps. this role will further be responsible for developing and executing a roadmap to capitalize on product-driven opportunities for organic and inorganic growth.

compensation and benefits:

salary range: $115,000 to $135,000 with bonus and equity

education and/or experience

extensive knowledge of stage-gate development processes

project management expertise

systems-level / product architecture understanding

ba/bs in engineering (ms helpful) and 5-10 years minimum leading successful engineering projects with history as both a strong functional and product line owner

proven process-driven within engineering function. leader who focuses on a continuous improvement environment, empowering mindset vs. expert engineer

the successful candidate will be a broadly experienced and highly credible engineering leader with experience in sophisticated life science tools, medical devices, technology, and/or healthcare solutions industries.

track record of delivering successful results/outcomes in all stages of the product life cycle across multiple product categories

ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; ability to simplify complex technical information and communicate in a clear, concise, and compelling/persuasive manner

strength in problem-solving, applying hard data and qualitative insight to frame problems and develop novel solutions to business, technical and process issues

experience in verification and validation requirements of iso 13485 and 21 cfr 820 for a class 2 medical device
