summary:
the ideal candidate …is someone who has several years experience with corporate and association group events. your experience has evolved around group meetings or conferences, board of directors or training classes. you understand the needs of a seasoned corporate meeting planner and know how to sell value over price. the ideal candidate is efficient in various office programing tools such as excel, word, publisher, adobe and outlook. and your passion is seeing an event through execution with pride of accomplishment. as our corporate sales manager or corporate catering manager closes on a contract, you are ready to take ownership and put your stamp on the event’s success!

the ideal candidate is someone that already has knowledge of the various components of events from planning to execution and has experience using a sales system such as ci/ty, delphi or sales pro. the ben utilizes ci/ty.   familiarity with marriott sales is also helpful. the ben, with its uniquely designed event spaces, offers clients everything from a traditional boardroom, to 1800 square foot of flex-space up to our 3800 square foot elegant rooftop ballroom.   the ideal candidate comes with a level of service that is 5 star and holds themselves accountable for nothing but superior service and accountability in their day to day work responsibilities.

detailing events booked by both the corporate group sales manager and the corporate/association catering managerserves as corporate meeting planner’s advocate and liaison to all operational departmentsmanaging group room block decision dates, deposits and actualscreate group resumes, event orders aadvises client on current status of events and function details, executes changes and works with original sales manager on upselling opportunities.sends and updates emenus and tools or processes related to corporate/group salesowns resource tools such as social tables diagraming tool and cendry eproposal tool.tour hotel event spaces and guest rooms with clients for walk in tours as neededdirect selling of event spaces as needed or dictated by seasonality etcpresents events to operations team in weekly beo/resume meetingsproactively resolves potential meeting or room set up issuesverifies with banquet manager and av partner that “day of” lighting, temperature, av equipment and room layout meet clients expectations

total team player with high energy, goal driven and willingness to celebrate and have funhigh attention to detail, timeliness on voicemail and emails, and professional conduct as a manager within the hotel at all times.able to take direction from corporate sales or catering sales manager for event successprofessional and courtesy phone presence with full understanding of hotel and the “ben story” and uniqueness of the autograph brandproficiency in excel and word required – adobe helpfultechnical savvy in computer systems to learn diagram tools such as social tables and eproposal and emenu tools through cendyn as well as various marriott resourcesunderstanding of seasonality, event pricing, event flow and day of executioninterest in career growth in sales to catering sales or room sales managergreat skill in prioritizing day with sense of urgency to those items on strict timelines or resulting in quick turnaround.can coordinate several contracts simultaneously without stress or erroracts with high degree of responsibility, initiative and professionalism.
