position summary:   

as a product owner, this individual is responsible for executing the electronic parking brake product vision and roadmap.  collaborating with product management and stakeholders, this position will help identify the needs and the value this product  can bring to the customer and the overall bendix product portfolio.  as part of an agile workforce team, this individual will be responsible for clearly articulating these needs and priorities to the development team.   this position is expected to  represent the customer and business interests through the definition and prioritization of the agile process that provides sequential deliverables to satisfy the larger business features and solutions as well as manage customer expectations.

 essential functions:   

champion for the customer by collaborating with the agile team to develop user stories that create value for our customers. understand the wider landscape of products and programs at bendix to identify and plan for dependencies with other teams. own the delivery of the roadmap, product planning, and requirements for new features and improvements. execute the role of a product owner as described in the scrum guide. work collaboratively with the agile team to align with product vision, negotiate commitments and maximize value delivery. sequence and balance trade-offs among conflicting business priorities. constantly pursues incremental delivery by looking for ways to meet business goals and learn from members and end-users through frequent, measurable enhancements. interacts with stakeholders during sprint reviews, or individually, to show the most critical aspects of a solution and negotiate feasible systems solutions effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders and all levels of management fosters a strong team interaction that allows people to get information on time by creating an environment where people share ideas and opinions, even when they disagree to ensure optimum solutions, activities.  acts as customer advocate for team questions and seeks out opportunities to connect the team with end-users, stakeholders and customers to develop and improve their understanding and empathy of end-user needs establish and maintain business cases for opportunities based on product and customer strategies. develops the strategic planning (strap) and mid-term operating plan (mop) for the product lines manages the profitability of product families through cost reduction programs, growth programs, long-term agreements (lta), pricing & operating performance.

 knowledge:   

experience negotiating tradeoffs with technical and business resources solutions based thinking in problem solving, asking probing questions and looking for underlying issues experience with the agile and lean values/concepts understanding of major functional and cross-functional business processes and related metrics. (engineering, operations, financial, marketing, and sales) capable of barrier breaking and resolution methods given competing priorities outside of the immediate group. understanding and utilization of business, management and people processes needed for overall success. demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas and break them down into smaller concepts and deliverables

 experience:   

2+ years experience in a similar capacity performing similar duties. external and internal customer relationship building or training. experience managing and prioritizing business and customer requirements accomplished at working effectively to tight deadlines regardless of possible setbacks and stress. agile scrum development environment experience is a plus experience in the automotive or transportation industry preferred.

 education: 

four-year technical, marketing, or business degree required agile training and certification preferred
