job description:

candidates with strong technical skills in the manufacturing assembly process space will enjoy this opportunity. if you've launched products and determined how the assembly of that product will happen, this role is for you! welding and automation experience/knowledge is helpful but not required.

position summary:

leads and performs professional manufacturing engineering assignments supporting product manufacturing.  applies standard engineering techniques, analysis, procedures and criteria in specific situations. produces and correlates data.  recognizes discrepancies in results.  investigate problems, identifies optimal solutions, and makes selections of engineering alternatives.  independently evaluates large-scale problems or opportunities, initiates required activities, identifies solutions, and applies standard engineering analysis tools to evaluate and select solutions. normally would be considered the subject matter expert for one or more specific projects or processes.

essential functions:

lead and manage new product launch programs with respect to manufacturing systems. design and develop manufacturing processes, including cost estimates, to meet safety, quality, and production requirements. procure and evaluate quotations for equipment and manage capital requests. act as liaison/project support with manufacturing plants personnel on projects and programs. coordinate and manage the manufacturing plant personnel in major product changes and operations improvements projects, including development of timing and resource plans. support the coc and manage their expectations in all essential functions listed above. capable of mentoring fellow employees to ame on their own area of expertise. create and update related corporate standards and strategies.

knowledge:

working knowledge of assembly and machining practices advanced fixturing and tooling design knowledge advanced computer/cad systems familiarity advanced knowledge of demand/capacity planning advanced understanding of statistical analysis

experience:

10+ years related experience in engineering field demonstrated engineering support for complex manufacturing facilities of at least 100,000sq ft facilities large project and/or program management experience due diligence and mergers and acquisition experience excellent automotive or aerospace experience demonstrated proficient machining knowledge general international and more specific experience in mexico required

skills:

able to work to directed priorities with little supervision able to set priorities, identify risks and opportunities advanced project management skills advanced oral and written communication skills able to work in a diverse work group and in diverse work cultures as well as independently advanced statistical analysis skills advanced six sigma analysis skills must act with sense of urgency and be able to energize others to work the same to achieve organizational goals/objectives advanced problem-solving skills proficient in cost estimating of equipment, and labor overhead

education:

bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline master's degree a plus formalized training in business finance a plus formalized training in statistical techniques project/program management (pmi certification a plus
