encore energy corp. is looking to fill the need for a chief operating officer. encore is one of the most diversified u.s. domestic uranium developers that is focused on becoming a leading in-situ recovery uranium producer. the encore team is led by industry experts with extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of isr uranium operations and the nuclear fuel cycle. encore’s initial opportunities are created from encore’s licensed and past-producing south texas-located rosita and kingsville dome isr production facilities, under development, and multiple satellite projects in south texas plus the changing global uranium supply/demand outlook and opportunities for industry consolidation. the advanced staged dewey burdock project in south dakota and the gas hills project in wyoming add to the large uranium resource endowments in new mexico creating an outstanding asset base for long term growth and development opportunities.

chief operating officer

working with the chief executive officer, the chief operating officer is a key member of encore’s executive team and will be responsible for all aspects of encore’s operations. the chief operating officer focuses on the establishment and optimization of the day-to-day operations of the company. responsibilities include setting monthly operational, capital program, and production goals following input from corporate and financial departments and developing and monitoring budgets. this position will be located at encore’s corporate office in corpus christi, tx usa.

the chief operating officer’s essential duties and responsibilities include:

overseeing encore’s operations, including standby, reclamation, capital, and production activities maintaining a culture of safety as a top priority ensuring that environmental stewardship is a key component of encore’s operating philosophy ensuring all direct reports are informed of operational objectives and goals monitoring capital, production, and operating costs against approved budgets responsibility for overall costs within areas of accountability to ensure that they are within board- approved budgets ensuring encore’s operations are in full compliance with all permits and regulations managing encore’s regulatory affairs activities to assure that permits and licenses necessary to meet corporate objectives are obtained setting operational and performance goals for each area that are aggressive, achievable, and tied to encore’s long term business plan ensuring employees are motivated, rewarded appropriately, and have potential for advancement establishing a culture of best practices for all encore’s operations

what you will need

bachelor’s degree in engineering, metallurgy, or geology relevant to encore’s business activities. master’s degree or higher is preferred or could be substituted with experience and/or other certifications. 10 – 15 years operational experience in mining or natural resource recovery. recent, direct experience in in-situ uranium recovery operations is a strong preference. experience in managing a team of diverse operational and technical skillsets. experience with managing radiation safety programs along with a strong accountability to as low as reasonably achievable (alara) principles, is preferred. demonstrated leader in health, safety, and environment initiatives. hands-on; self-starter; team-player. strong problem-solving skills, ability to identify, evaluate (risk/reward balance) and resolve legal issues within the context of the business strategy and objectives. demonstrated experience in improving internal processes to improve outcomes proven success at developing and implementing strategic decisions a strong track record in creating optimal organizational structures that leverage employees and contractors as appropriate exceptional attention to detail
