summary: assists the staff psychiatrist in the prescription, administration and monitoring of client medications; performs routine physical and mental health nursing assessments, orders and dispenses prescribed medications and other medically based treatment services and provides supportive counseling. may monitor the medical needs of clients and/or administers methadone to clients. prepares related documents and records. may administer drug testing, t.b. testing and other medical screening. 

duties: processes medications order for clients as prescribes by provider secures, stores, and disposes of medications and prepares related records administers and/or delivers and records medications to clients provides routine supportive counseling to clients in the course of medical assessment and treatment makes routine assessments of client behavioral and medical status and prepares documents responds to calls for routine medical information maintains stock medicine inventories and reorders as required conducts client medical intake and follow up interviews and performs physical assessments schedules and assists the physician with medical examinations performs skilled nursing duties as ordered by providers dispenses methadone, maintains and secures methadone inventories, and prepares related client and administrative records collects and delivers laboratory specimens for analysis follows up on all medical concerns, including lab results oversees the self-administration of client medications does related work
