Postdoctoral researcher, epidemiology of aging - united states, athens

position summary:

the postdoctoral researcher position creates a bridge between a doctoral program and full-time employment as a faculty member or researcher and serves to prepare an individual who was recently awarded a doctorate with further training to undertake the responsibilities of a faculty member or researcher.

primary responsibilities:
1. plans and conducts original research projects within the research group (graciela muniz terrera and external collaborators prof. dan mroczek ( northwestern university) and prof. scott hofer ( uvic, bc, canada) that are within the framework of the pi’s research focus. research will focus on personality, modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for dementia.. works collaboratively with other local and external research staff, and students at the direction of the pi. provides statistical analysis of the data results.

2. prepares manuscripts for publication at the direction of the pi. presents research findings at professional meetings.

3. applies for fellowships in the second year of position. assists with reviews of grants and manuscripts.

4. mentors medical, graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.

the successful candidate will have:
strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of collaborators. ability to develop manuscripts and deliver presentations. strong analytical skills, experience in longitudinal data analyses, data science and strong interest in aging, dementia and personality research


minimum qualifications - abd, phd or equivalent in psychology / human development or a strongly quantitative scientific discipline
-1 year of work related experience
