this role will report and work directly with the human resources manager, providing day-to-day support to employees within the corporate, field, and client facing

offices while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. this position is heavily administrative.

essential duties & responsibilities

human resources function

· ensure accurate, complete & timely submission of form i-9 before completing the e-verify process.

· utilize onboarding system to finalize new hire documents and establish new employee profiles within the hris before the bi-weekly payroll-processing deadline.

· utilize hris to process personnel actions (ex., class, salary, etc.) and employee contact information updates (ex., address changes).

· maintain employee personnel files and hr record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements.

· administer employment and wage verifications, including meeting with federal investigators.

· oversee unemployment claims for all states.

· develop internal and external communication pieces.

· maintaining office supply inventory

· provide overall assistance and support for the human resources department.

· costpoint hris database experience preferred

benefits administration function

· assist the human resources manager with the annual enrollment process

· support employees with inquiries about health and welfare benefits, eligibility, payroll deductions, etc.

· develop carrier relationships while resolving coverage discrepancies via direct communication and utilization of carrier sites for benefits administration.

· provide information and assistance with annual 401(k) audit.

· process 401(k) deferral changes, answer basic plan-related questions, referring complex inquiries to the plan administrator, principal financial services.

· knowledge of practices related to benefits and payroll administration is preferred.

office administration function

· strong skills in time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.

· ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential documents and situations.

· must possess the ability to communicate effectively – in writing and orally, with a professional demeanor.

· capacity to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.

· proficient computer skills in the windows operation system, including spreadsheet applications.

education & certification

· phr certification is preferred.

· bs/ba degree preferred—minimum 3 years human resources experience.
