job description

electro static technology is seeking a part time hr generalist who will be responsible to provide day-to-day hr support and policy administration to a manufacturing facility.  position will report directly to the business unit manager and dotted line responsibility to the division hr director.  the role will support the departmental leaders to carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas:  employee relations, wellness and benefits, recruitment, and performance and talent management.  he or she will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the smooth running of hr projects and operations and be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the hr department and the organization.

primary responsibilities

provides coaching and support to non-exempt managers in solving employee relations issues, such as policy violations, attendance concerns, and performance issuesrecruitment and hiring of all hourly, salaried, and technical personnel, working with the supervisors/managers of the positionsorganizes and conducts new employee orientation; creates a positive first impression of the company and serves as a role model for itw values.liaison with division hr for leave policies, compensation practices and employee data in hris.assist in upholding a positive work environment through strong employee relationsadministrate and/or oversee all employee disciplinary and termination procedures and assure that all pertinent documentation is maintained. working with division hr director as necessarycomplete exit interviews, compile turnover trending and review with management teamsupport managers in the performance review and compensation processes for non-exempt employeessupports and coordinates employee events, recognition programs, awards, activities, etc.coordinates wellness events and activities for the divisionother duties as assignedjob requirements
bachelor’s degree or a professional hr certification (phr or sphr/ shrm-cp or shrm-scp)3 years working in a manufacturing environment a must.strong written/verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening skills; able to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and responds clearly to inquiries in a timely fashionpossesses a strong drive for results and shows initiative to identify issues and provide solutionscapable of working independently, with limited supervisionable to effectively manage time and prioritize work, and capable of managing multiple tasks to consistently meet or exceed deadlinesadapts easily to change, performs calmly under pressure, and works effectively in ambiguous environmentsable to make independent decisions, highly inquisitive, and has a continuous improvement mindset to regularly suggest ways to improve policies and processesestablishes and maintains effective working relationships and credibility with individuals at all levels of the organization while demonstrating a positive and friendly attitudeability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.strong technical skills / aptitude: proficiency in ms office programs (word, powerpoint and excel)contact information
